BE Irradiation Facility

Beijing Sanqiang undertakes the radiation protection design, engineering design, under-beam equipment and automatic control systems, safety interlock design, supply, installation, and commissioning of electron accelerator irradiation facilities. Electron accelerator irradiation facilities can be widely applied for the irradiation modification of wires and cables, radiation vulcanization of natural latex, and the irradiated production of heat-shrinkable products for various applications, foam plastics, etc. They can also be used for the sterilization of medical supplies and food irradiation.
Beijing Sanqiang initiated the "Irradiation Cross-linking Pre-treatment for Tire Carcass Inner Liners" project at the end of 2004. This project received support from the National Development and Reform Commission and was included in the National High-Tech Industrialization Special Project for Civilian Non-Power Nuclear Technology Applications in 2004 (Document [2004] No. 2077). Through material performance research, tackling key problems in irradiation facility and process technology, and the integration of whole-tire technologies, the project has achieved a proprietary technological system. In May 2006, the finished tires treated with Electron Beam (EB) cross-linking passed tests conducted by the National Tire Inspection Center. This marked the entry of China's proprietary Electron Beam (EB) pre-treatment technology for tires into the industrialization phase. Currently, the electron beam processing line for tire carcasses is under construction. Experiments have found that electron beam pre-treatment of the tire carcass not only allows for a reduction in carcass thickness without affecting tire performance but also increases the proportion of SR that can be used in the raw materials, thereby reducing costs and helping to enhance the international competitiveness of China's tire industry.

On November 1, 2011, the inauguration ceremony for Jiangsu Dasheng's RHODOTRON Electron Accelerator Application Center was held in Wujiang City, Jiangsu Province. The electron accelerator for this project utilizes IBA's RHODOTRON TT200, with a nominal electron beam energy of 10MeV and a power of 100kW. It is currently the irradiation facility with the largest single-unit processing capacity invested in domestically. Our company was responsible for the design and supply of the project's radiation protection and safety interlock systems, civil engineering, conveying system, and production control software. The conveying system for this project fully utilizes stainless steel materials, making it aesthetically pleasing, clean, and practical. All its functions comply with the GB/T 25306-2010 national standard. As the sole domestic supplier of under-beam ancillary equipment for the Rhodotron accelerator in China, this project filled a domestic gap. This facility can achieve closely spaced product arrangement at an under-beam speed of 12 m/min, with speed control accuracy reaching ±2%. It enables real-time tracking of products online and provides abundant and accurate processing data, meeting the processing requirements for medical supplies.
Beijing Sanqiang Nuclear Radiation Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. is committed to promoting the application of accelerator-related ancillary systems. We welcome interested production units to contact us for discussions on cooperation.
